FUTURE SCAN
FutureScan is a conceptual app created by Future Foods. The app allows you to scan the food you pick up in the market. With the camera of your smartphone and the latest image recognition technology that recognises shapes, colour, and text. It allows you to access the database of your preferred market and give you more information about the product you have scanned. It can also gather sustainability information on the scanned item by allowing the app to use the data gathered from the camera and the database to search on web. When an item is scanned, an augmented reality information and menu will appear in the screen and the user will be able to interact with the graphics in the screen of their smartphones.

After signing up to FutureScan, you can simply use your fingerprint to sign in . No need to type your email and password for fast and secure sign in.
LATEST IMAGE RECOGNITION
FutureScan uses the latest Image Recognition Technology that uses your smartphone's camera to recognise colours, text, and shapes. When the camera has gathered all the information such as the text, colours and shapes, it uses your mobile data or WiFi to search information about the product you have scanned. The visualisation video below demonstrates how the image recognition works. The top video is what we see in our mobile phones and the bottom one shows the image recognition technology working it's magic. It gathers information in seconds and in real-time.

Your Profile allows you to view your recently scanned items and able to view information about them.

Future Foods sees a potential existence in the supermarkets we have today. The company believes that you will be able to access the feature of FutureScan in the supermarket trolleys. As technology gets cheaper, this vision becomes promising. Hypothetically, all supermarket trolley will have a camera that has image recognition that identifies colours, shapes and text much like the future of our smartphones and a 10-inch screen that has the FutureScan software.
